
Indira Melgarejo is an expert at entering the child’s world through play. She is warm, compassionate, and skilled at creating a safe space for the kids to feel understood.
Indira is skilled in listening attentively to parents. She works collaboratively with them to discover the root of the issues they bring to counseling/therapy.
Indira specializes in creating individualized plans to help parents understand their children’s behavior and support their growth into healthy, happy adults.
Indira has a master’s degree in clinical psychology from Rafael Urdaneta University in Venezuela, where she also earned her Bachelor’s in Psychology. Her fellowship was in clinical and health psychology at the Minnesota Children’s Hospital and Clinics.
Indira’s specialty training includes Gestalt Psychotherapy, play therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and attachment theory.
While working toward her license in mental health counseling in WA State, Indira volunteered at CIELO, a nonprofit serving the Latinx community.
Being active outdoors is one of Indira’s reliable sources of joy, and you can often find her enjoying one of her beloved outdoor activities, including hiking, running, and skiing. She loves to read, play the cello, and cuatro.
